I guess you’ll agree with me when I say:
Finding blogging tips is not really the challenge.
Making them work is.
Or is it?
Well, it turns out, there is a simple 3-step process that helps you make almost every blogging tip work.
If you stick to that 3 steps, you can even outperform the results of the one’s who once innovated the tips you use.
And in today’s post, I’m going to show you what these easy 3 steps are.
But it get’s even better:
To make it complete, I’ve also included a handpicked list of 43 highly actionable blog tips you can use right now.
That way, you have it both: A list of excellent, easy-to-follow tips for your blogging, and a clue how to make these tips work like magic.
Let’s start with the “make the tips work like magic” part!
How to turn almost every blogging tip into pure gold
Step 1: Stop doing the wrong things
This is probably the Nr. 1 reason why most of us can’t manage to create any results from any blog tips:
We are too busy.
Yes, we are too busy with collecting tips, resources and tools for our blogging endeavor.
It’s like an addiction: One more helpful tip… and I start doing. One more blogger tutorial… to have it all bookmarked. One more blogging strategy… to have enough options to choose from…
Sure, the amount of tips we are exposed to in the blogosphere is insane.
But is it an excuse for collecting them all?
No.
Let’s be honest:
Do you want to know everything about successful blogging in theory?
Or do you want to show successful blogging by results?
Results come from taking action.
Collecting is not taking action.
So stop collecting tips now.
Step 2: Start doing the single one right thing
Once you stop being busy with collecting blogger tutorials and tactics, your time and focus are free to do the one single right thing:
Instead of reviewing all these tips, you start using them. With heaps of dedication, one tip at a time.
You might be wondering:
How can I wholeheartedly commit to a tip I’ve never tried before? Maybe it’s a nonstarter?
The answer is simple:
– you only pick tips that others have tried before
– of these tips, you only use those that have evidently lead to great results
Yes, tips you can unconditionally trust are those that have massively been proven to work by others.
They allow you to skip the part of figuring out if they work. Instead, you can purely focus on replicating the success others have demonstrated with them.
And here’s the kicker:
All the 43 blog tips I included below in this post are of the category “massively proven to work” with each tip expanding into actionable how-to resources.
But before you jump into the execution part, let’s look at the final step that helps you to turn every tip you use into gold!
Step 3: Keep doing the single one right thing
It sounds so easy, but it’s what most of us fail at:
Following through with the things we start doing.
If you start using a tip, stick to it and follow through with all the instructions, until you mastered it!
Here’s why that’s so difficult to do:
While you apply something new, your mindset sits in your neck to “moderate” every step that you do.
In essence, that “moderation” has one goal: To talk you out of doing that new thing.
Yes, your mind starts a discussion full of doubts and questioning and what-if’s to pull you back in the land of no-risk known things.
And here’s why “dumb” people have an unfair advantage with this issue:
They don’t listen to the obscure stories their mind creates. They don’t believe in any of that rumoring. And – most importantly – they don’t change their behavior because of this damaging input coming from their minds.
Instead, they just dumb-dull follow the instructions that (evidently) lead to a specific result they want to achieve.
To make the tips you use work, you have to switch into that “dumb-mode” and follow through with the instructions.
So let’s dive into those instructions!
43 actionable blogging tips you can use right now
The following tips cover blogging for beginners as well as topics for advanced bloggers.
Just read the tip and click into the attached ultimate resource to “dumb-follow” the instructions in detail.
And please remember:
Always follow through and master one tip, before you move on to using the next.
If you stick to the 3 steps we discussed above:
– stop collecting blogging input
– start using proven advice
– keep using proven advice (follow through)
Then I promise that just a handful of the following tips will already cause a huge boost in your blog’s growth!
So, without further ado, here they come, 43 golden tips and tricks for creating your blogging success, ready to be executed by you!
How to set up a blog
#1: Starting with no problem can cause you a HUGE problem. (Go and find your target groups ultimate problem).Click To TweetFinding your niche is not enough:
Examine your target group bone-deep. Find out EVERYTHING about their deepest needs.
Once you know what your future customers biggest pain point is, you can tailor your blog for undeniable solutions.
Hint: Dig deep, not every target group’s problem is that obvious:

#2: Make your blog set up a sprint (so you don’t get caught up in the details).Click To Tweet
Once you’re clear about your niche and target group, try to keep momentum with the technical set-up of your blog.
It’s easy to spend AGES in the details of how to start a blog on WordPress or other content management systems; or with choosing hosting and domains.
Don’t let that be you. Just follow through with the available instructions of the pros.

#3: Choose a “usability first” design for your blog (while sprinting).Click To Tweet
Another big time eater: Gazillions of WordPress themes to choose the best blog design from:
Don’t hunt for the ultimate theme; it doesn’t exist.
Instead, aim for a “less-is-more” one, with a clean design and a great user guidance.

#4: Think and act visually from the very beginning (to get the attention of the spoiled content cherry picker).Click To Tweet
Look how the use of visualized information has increased over the past years:

To stay on top of the game, you have to speak visually in telling stories and add compelling images and visuals to your posts that are hard to resist.
You’ll be miles ahead of the masses if you combine a strong visual tone with your catchy headlines and excellent copy.

Plugins do so many jobs:
They speed up and secure your blog, manage backups, optimize your blog for the search engines, block spam comments, boost social shares and email optins, …
But how many plugins do you need and which ones are the best?

#6: Don’t pioneer: Make use of proven formats and strategies to survive the content competition.Click To Tweet
I know, bloggers are not a competitive species at all.
But, with millions of new posts per day, they have no choice but to aim for outperforming with every piece of content they craft.
Learn from the outperformers and adopt their proven principles instead of reinventing the wheel with risky (and time-consuming) content experiments.

Even the best proven content tactics are useless if you don’t customize them: Use your strong, unique voice and always serve your readers with truly helpful content.
If you can’t add relevant value with your content, readers will skip it as useless ”me-too junk.”

Don’t only rely on proven content formats like lists, how-tos, infographics, etc.
Do also choose content topics that show proven popularity within your niche.
It’s not the topic where you have to show your uniqueness.
It’s your writing about the topic that has to show your unique contribution.

That’s not true.

If you help someone’s audience to have a more convenient or more efficient experience with that someone’s resources, that someone will highly appreciate you, no matter how newbie you are.

We are so busy trying to get the attention of all the influencers in our niche that we totally forget (and underestimate) the buzz our same level companions can create for us.
Don’t have any blogging buddies yet? Well, just scroll down the posts of your favorite blogging idols to find plenty of “same interest” friendship opportunities in the comment section.

Instead of fobbing you off, people will thank you for the opportunity to “upgrade” their content with a link to your second-to-none resource.

#21: A-list influencers have a different accessibility (and spam-exposure journey) than B, C, D-list influencers. Your outreach has to reflect that.Click To Tweet
Masses of bloggers have realized that they have to heavily promote their content to gain traction.
As a result, influencers all around the globe are exposed to masses of outreach messages.
It’s hard for top influencers to not feel spammed with every new hundred of outreach emails they receive every day.
The exact-match use of outreach templates (even if invented by outreach champions) is a no go. It’s again about being special and very value adding.

Hey Vera,
that’s an awesome guide you have here!
kheh, totally agree that most of us (me including) overthink and end up doing nothing with those inspiring ideas we have in our minds.
Idea is exciting – execution takes hours, days, weeks – so I guess it’s understandable, but heh – no excuses!
—
When it comes to online courses, let me add something to conversation..
In past I made a mistake of overthinking the tools.. like making coding, technical excuses… “oh it’s too complicated”.
Even worse I once spent a year creating a custom website (money, time) – which in the end did nothing!
Lesson learned, don’t let tools get in the way – focus on MARKETING and CONTENT (adding value to readers).
So..when I launched the course, in the end, I just went with Teachable – 3rd party course platform and didn’t worry about any coding. Could be up and running in one day (only thing slowing me down was myself creating a good course).
And that’s basically nowadays how it is for tools – Thinkific or Teachable will do best – read more here – https://foundertips.com/thinkific-vs-teachable/
Just thought to add, that please people don’t make the mistake of letting tools get in the way…!
Your guide is perfect though!
Hey Dainis,
